Position Type: Non-Union/ConfidentialDate Posted: 10/7/2024Location: Central OfficeThe Danbury Public Schools serves a diverse community of over 12,000 learners across 20 school locations city-wide. The District is embarking on a multi-year transitional strategic plan for our Multi-Language Learners that transforms the delivery of instruction for these learners, designs curricula to enhance support their learning, and delivers specific professional development for teachers while engaging families in this transformation. The district seeks a Program Manager who is experienced and skilled in executing multi-faceted projects crafted in collaboration with the Superintendent, District Curriculum coordinators, and other administrators. Primary responsibilities: The Program Manager will be responsible for co-administering an $1.875 million grant that funds the activities and programs that support the goals of this Grant with the Superintendent and curriculum team. The Program Manager role specifically includes managing and overseeing a variety of activities, including scheduling, reporting on activities, purchasing supporting materials, budget management, and technical support coordination for this large-scale curriculum redesign project focused specifically on universal access for all learners. These projects will include teacher training, stakeholder communication and management, community engagement events, data collection and reporting, fiscal management, cost management/procurement, and adherence to the proposal's fidelity and its completion timeline. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead and coordinate the grant-funded project to redesign the Danbury Public School system, ensuring alignment with grant objectives and timelines. 2. Work closely with key administrators to ensure seamless integration of new initiatives into the existing school framework. 3. Integrate new data systems with the Director of Assessment to report on student progress and the objectives of each funded area. 4. Prepare regular reports on project status, achievements, and challenges for funders and stakeholders. 5. Work with the business office to maintain budgets, process costs, and reporting. 6. Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, parents, and community members. 7. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure the successful implementation of project components.Qualifications: • Advanced degree in Education, Curriculum Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in project management, particularly in the educational setting. • Strong understanding of multilingual learner needs and bilingual education. • Experience in curriculum development and teacher training. • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex projects simultaneously. • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. • Familiarity with data systems and educational technology.This is a grant-funded position beginning October 15, 2024, and continuing through June 30, 2025. The Project, and this Program Manager position, may continue based on the availability of additional funding for subsequent periods. Hours: up to 30 hours per week may include evening and Saturday hours. Rate: $40.00 hour
