BASIC FUNCTIONS: Manages programs, activities, and functions of The Warner Music/Blavatnik Center for Music Business to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the center are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This position reports to the Director of the Warner Music/Blavatnik Center for Music Business at the School of Business. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Has responsibility or authority limited to the direction of employees, student workers and volunteers. NATURE AND SCOPE: Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, and students both within the center and University-wide. External contacts include Record Labels, Management Companies, Sports Conglomerates, Entertainment companies, sponsor representatives, vendors, visitors, officials, and the general public. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Complete administrative tasks of the center including office management, ordering office supplies, submitting requests on behalf of the center, and managing student and employer check-in procedures
  • Manages, coordinates, and executes center programs and events including PLANNING, event setup, registration, check-in, package handling, and tear down
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors
  • Provide career coaching to students including resume reviews, mock interviews, and career guidance
  • Coordinate activities of the program in collaboration with other programs, departments, or centers to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications
  • Prepare periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for management or outside agencies
  • Evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise evaluation methodology and implementation; analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action
  • Review applications or other program documents independently or in conjunction with the supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to the program
  • Monitor and respond to center email messages
  • Oversee Center's communication efforts (writing, editing, and dissemination of promotional material to include in print collateral, weekly career bulletin, social media posts and other media)
  • Receive and screen telephone calls and visitors; assist visitor or caller by answering questions or providing information regarding office/department policies or procedures utilizing a thorough knowledge of office operations; determines when referral to supervisor, appropriate staff member or other office is appropriate
  • Supervise the scheduling of travel, appointments, meetings, and conferences for Center leadership
  • Relationship management with students, staff, faculty, and corporate partners
  • Provide exceptional service to all stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with EIC and corresponding staff
  • Manage relationships with guest speaker, entourage and management
  • Manage and assist with FELLOWS and curriculum
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
CORE COMPETENCIES:
  • Skilled in computers, related software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and standard office equipment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of related work experience, 6 years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications. Working knowledge of HubSpot, Skedda, Canva, and Handshake preferred. Compliance Salary Range Disclosure Expected Salary Range: $77,272 - $85,000
