PROGRAM OVERVIEW: MST-BSF, an evidence-based treatment model, provides intensive family- and community-based treatment for families that are active cases within the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The family's DCF involvement is due to the physical abuse and/or neglect of a child (age 6-17 years of age) in the family in the last 180 days plus the use of marijuana, cocaine, opioids, alcohol, or other substances by at least one caregiver in the family. POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor is a licensed master's level mental health professional who provides clinical supervision and program management for MST-PSB consistent with the model, contractual, licensing and payer obligations/requirements. The Program Manager will provide direct service/on-call as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct weekly group supervision for MST-BSF team to assure adherence to MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process a minimum of one hour per week. Conduct weekly individual supervision to target clinician competency needs and to remove individual barriers to effective implementation of MST-BSF treatment. Assure appropriate documentation of clinical effort to allow for peer and supervisory input, and to meet all reporting and communication needs of funding and referral sources. Provide administrative support targeting systemic barriers to treatment success. Assure availability of clinical and administrative support to clinicians 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Assure therapist accessibility to clients when needed at times most likely to promote engagement. Assure that clinicians achieve engagement with all key participants. Provide direct clinical training as well as support and corrective feedback to assure clinician competency in all clinical areas relating to the implementation of MST-BSF interventions. This includes enacting role play and practice, attending field visits with therapists, acting as co-therapist in sessions, listening to audio tapes of clinicians' sessions, and providing feedback about clinicians' performance. Assure that all assessments are comprehensive, multisystemic, and provide adequate information to determine the causes and correlates of referral behaviors to direct effective treatment within the ecological context. Ensure that each clinician has a Clinician Development Plan that is reviewed monthly and revised quarterly. Work with the Family Services Research Center at the Medical University of South Carolina to ensure that all data for the adherence measure is collected. Build a relationship with community stakeholders (i.e., child protection services, Guardians ad Litem, judges, schools, etc.) to ensure that there is a continuous stream of referrals and that customer satisfaction is high. Collaborate with MST-BSF expert to provide feedback, resources, and training to all team members. Support weekly MST-BSF consultation through ensuring that clinicians' paperwork is submitted to the expert in a timely manner, participating in all consultations, and collaborating with the expert on feedback to team members. Facilitate delivery of the weekly Social Club recovery support group intervention. Ensures the documentation of all services in adherence with state statutes, regulatory bodied, billing, COA standards and Boys & Girls Village Standards. Arranges for and attends team meetings of program. Provides back up to on-call staff, maintaining a flexible work schedule. Participates all required trainings, network meetings, DCF reviews, etc. Prevent, intervene and report instances of child abuse or neglect. Maintains regular contact with regional DCF gatekeeper(s) regarding current status of program including anticipated availability for future placements and attend DCF reviews for the program. Other duties as assigned to insure the effective operation of the program. ESSENTIAL QUALCIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Master's Degree in a Human Services field Three (3) years of experience in the delivery of clinical services Must have significant knowledge of diverse populations served by the program and short-term treatment methodologies. Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with other agencies and to promote team building with staff. Demonstrated history of cultural competence. Experience working with adolescents and their families PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience and/or knowledge of MST or other evidenced based treatments Bi-lingual desired. Experience using Cognitive-Behavioral/Structural/Strategic Family Therapies SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for weekly supervision of Clinicians and Case Manager Reviews service and treatment plans of all active cases to insure appropriateness of care and compliance with agency, contract, accreditation and licensing standards. Completes annual evaluations for staff. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to climb several flights of stairs WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT Evening and occasional weekends are required Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record as well as access to use of a reliable automobile. Ability to be flexible with work schedule
