Program ManagerJob no: 508716 Position type: Full-Time 12-Month Department: 313221 - Health Sciences Administration Location: Meridian Campus - Meridian, MS Categories: Professional Position Open Date: Jan 3 2025 Position Function:The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate activities for a multidisciplinary research and community engagement initiatives focused on promoting health through collaborative partnerships and innovative interventions with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. This role involves managing daily operations, identifying funding opportunities, assisting with proposal submissions, and ensuring the timely achievement of program objectives for intramurally and extramurally-funded projects. The ideal candidate will have strong project management, research administration, and community engagement skills within health sciences, public health, - or related fields.Salary Grade: 15Please see Staff Compensation Structure for salary ranges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Develop and manage operational plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables for program activities.2. Coordinate efforts across the program's administrative, research, capacity-building, and community engagement functions.3. Facilitate collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, including faculty, staff, community organizations, and other stakeholders.4. Assist faculty in identifying funding opportunities aligned with program goals and their individual research interests.5. Provide guidance on proposal preparation and submission processes, including compliance with funding agency requirements.6. Maintain an updated repository of funding opportunities and resources for faculty and project partners.7. Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, academic institutions, and other collaborators.8. Represent the program in interactions with stakeholders and participate in relevant consortia, workshops, and meetings.9. Develop communication strategies to enhance program visibility and establish trust with partners.10. Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting activities to evaluate program outcomes and impact.11. Ensure compliance with data management and sharing policies, aligning with best practices for transparency and accessibility.12. Prepare periodic reports and updates for stakeholders and funding agencies.13. Develop and deliver training programs and resources to strengthen research capacity for faculty and partners.14. Support the creation of collaborative research networks and learning communities.15. Identify and address training needs related to research methodologies, grant writing, and community engagement practices.16. Design and implement strategies to foster meaningful community engagement and collaborative research efforts.17. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community partnerships and health equity outcomes.18. Facilitate the dissemination of research findings and resources to diverse audiences.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 3-years of professional experience related to essential duties and responsibilities.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1. Familiarity with health equity frameworks and social determinants of health.2. Experience with grant-writing processes and funding agency requirements.3. Proficiency with project management and data analysis tools.4. Background in designing and delivering training or capacity-building initiatives.5. Capable of organizing and maintaining multiple programs and activities for extended periods of time simultaneously.6. Experience in a service-oriented environment.7. Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products, e-mail, web browsers, presentation software, spreadsheets, database or events management software; ability to learn new technologies.8. Attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills.9. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.10. Ability to compose, edit, and proofread.11. Demonstrated ability to support faculty in identifying funding opportunities and preparing competitive grant proposals.12.
