Job Description:
Under the direction of the Division Chief of Lymphoma and the Administrative Director of Hematologic Malignancies, the Program Manager provides knowledgeable and skilled oversight and support to the Lymphoma Division as it relates to the creation and management of content that advances our reputation and connects audiences to our mission through effective, consistent information sharing and storytelling on a variety of print and digital platforms, the coordination of administrative activities and events, special projectmanagement, and support for day-to-day activities and overall departmental goals and initiatives. The Program Manager collaborates closely with the Division Chief and Associate Chief, clinical trials managers, patient advocates, representatives from DFCI philanthropy and development office and department administrative staff.Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. The selected candidate may only work remote days from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).Departmental support
  • Lead the coordination and facilitation of key research working groups for lymphoma subspecialties in collaboration with Division Chief of Lymphoma and working group leads including the following responsibilities:
    • Meeting series scheduling including coordination with external presenters
    • Agenda planning
    • Materials preparation
    • Minutes/note taking/action item follow-up
    • Create the Lymphoma division's original content and oversee entire scope of the Department's social media presence, specifically in facilitating its Twitter account as well as other platforms such as Instagram where applicable, in collaboration with DFCI Communications and patient advocates.
    • Organize recurring research and program retreats in collaboration with Chief of Lymphoma and division faculty.
    • Lead the coordination and facilitation of division donor-facing materials for philanthropic and development fundraising to support the division's research, in collaboration with Chief.
    • Support recurring and ad-hoc division meetings as needed in collaboration with research, clinical, and administrative leadership.Program support
      • Manage the development and publication of consensus-based clinical guidelines in collaboration with disease center faculty, leadership, and DFCI Communications.
      • Support the financial management as it relates to philanthropic and grant funds to ensure fulfillment of agreed-upon milestones and the implementation of the programmatic vision of research. Assists with grant writing and progress reports as necessary.
      • Support programmatic efforts in the Lymphoma division as a resource to teams for specific ad-hoc or recurring events (e.g., facilitating virtual breakout rooms, supporting virtual/live events, compiling program materials/handouts, etc.)
      • Review conference proceedings to compile a list of events for reference for the faculty.
      • Work directly with PIs with specific programmatic efforts as needed.
      • May lead and/or support other programmatic projects as needed and as directed by the Chief of Lymphoma.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:May supervise 1-2 staff members, including interns and other staff.PATIENT CONTACT:None.
        • Bachelor's degree in a health related field required.
        • 5 years of related experience in a healthcare administration/office setting required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
          • Advanced knowledge of the use of computers and related software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
          • Strong critical thinking skills.
          • Strong meeting management skills, including agenda preparation, facilitation, and minute taking.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
          • Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities.
          • Demonstrated ability to initiate and/or draft reports, correspondence and other administrative documents as needed.
          • Ability to create, compose, re-format and edit written materials.
          • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare spreadsheets and reports.
          • Ability to operate independently with established guidelines.
          • Ability to exercise strong judgement and discretion.
