Job Title: Program Manager, MA in Museum Studies

Job Summary: The MA in Museum Studies program (MUSE) offers a 16-month curriculum that provides students with the comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience to assume a variety of roles within cultural, artistic, and heritage organizations. The Program is situated in the Department of Art + Architecture.

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Strategic Initiatives, and in coordination with the Program's Academic Director, the Program Manager for the MA in Museum Studies is responsible for managing and supporting the efficient operation of the graduate program.

Full Job Description:Recruitment and Admissions
  • Plan, manage and execute the student recruitment, admissions, and retention process, from prospect to matriculation to graduation.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students and manage the admissions process from inquiry to registration.
  • Manage development of marketing campaigns and materials, as well as communications media.
  • Manage and develop the program's communications and publications.
  • Academic/Student Support
  • Organize, oversee logistics for, and attend MUSE events.
  • Administer the capstone advising process with the program's Academic Director.
  • Coordinate the internship program and manage the internship placement process.
  • Manage alumni tracking and alumni services for the program.
  • Collaborate with departments across campus to ensure resources are available to graduate students and faculty.
  • Support development initiatives by drafting reports and stewardship materials.
  • Support the activities of the curriculum assessment committee.
  • Support faculty onboarding and logistical needs.
  • Hire and manage student assistants.
  • Support the Academic Director in planning and tracking the program budget.
  • Provide administrative support to faculty and the Dean's office for other College-related projects.
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the University Graduate Admission Council.
  • Manage program budgets, including assisting with scholarship allocations.
  • Collaborate with the Program Assistant.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required in relevant areas; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of program administration work experience required.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to recruitment fairs and partner industry organizations.
  • Strong equity lens, cultural humility, and proven ability to work well in a diverse context.
  • Understanding and commitment to USF's mission, vision, and values.
  • This is primarily an in-person position at USF's Hilltop campus in San Francisco, with the option to work 1-2 days remotely per week when scheduling permits.

    Pay Rate: Salary

    Salary Range : $74,500-$84,500 annualized; commensurate with experience
