Position Title:Program Manager, Open Education

Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 (Funded through January 20
GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Program Manager for a grant-funded project with the support of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. The position is funded through January 1, 2026. To increase the awareness and use of open education in the Northeast, NEBHE is providing its states, institutions, and the broader open education community with resources, infrastructure, and research to guide course marking initiatives and policies. The Program Manager will work to support theNew England Board Higher Education's open education work, including the ongoing CourseMarking Grant and its participating institutions. In postsecondary education, course marking is the process of assigning specific, searchable attributes to courses in Student Information Systems that enable students to make informed decisions about their schedules when they register for classes. Tagging courses that utilize Open Educational Resources (OER) or other no-cost course materials provides students with the agency to make informed decisions and helps to remove financial access barriers, ensuring all students have the learning materials they need to succeed.
Under the direction of the Director of the Regional Student Program & Technology Operations and in collaboration with a consulting Fellow, Open Education, this person will be responsible for managing communication with grantees, organizing virtual community of practice events, assisting with grant reporting, and participating in the National Consortium of Open Educational Resources (NCOER) – a coordinated effort among all four regionalcompacts to advanceand scale the use of open education.

Based in downtown Boston, NEBHE is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization.
