The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Program Manager at the Task Force on Antisemitism will oversee and coordinate the administrative function and coordination of several research projects for the newly established Task Force. The Task Force represents the first in a series of steps to reinvigorate community-building and develop robust support networks, reinforcing the university's commitment to ensuring that our campuses are safe, welcoming, and inclusive for Jewish students, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

This is a one-year temporary role with the option for renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Independently and proactively manage complex projects and support the day-to-day operations of the Task Force.
  • Manage the budget for all research projects. Review monthly expenditure reports and communicate with Task Force leaders to ensure they meet deadlines and address questions regarding funding.
  • Oversee and coordinate logistics for the recruitment and onboarding process of interviewers, including scheduling, communication, and resource allocation to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all parties involved.
  • Coordinate and manage the logistics of focus group scheduling, including participant recruitment, venue booking, and ensuring all necessary materials and resources are available for successful sessions.
  • Manage the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process. Adjust to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget, as necessary.
  • Serve as liaison between the Task Force office and key stakeholders in support of the center leadership in its endeavor.
  • Coordinate complex multiple-team multi-institution collaboration related to projects including scheduling complex meetings, monitoring timelines, and ensuring that schedules are adhered to, and milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Facilitate communication between Task Force members, collaborators, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the research team and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and integration of project components to ensure projects are progressing in accordance with the project timelines.
  • Lead the planning of Task Force events as well as events funded in partnership with institutes, schools, and departments within Columbia University.
  • Oversee all communication efforts, including website content updates, maintaining contact lists, developing marketing materials, and creating and delivering presentations for meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two to four years of related experience.

  • Superior verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with faculty, students, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills essential.
  • Capable of energetic, independent work, exercising tact, discretion, independent judgment, and initiative, and coordinating multiple responsibilities, often with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with people from different backgrounds, cultures, career stages, and worldviews.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email programs, internet browsers, etc.), as well as the capacity to learn all relevant administrative systems used by Columbia University.
