Position Title Program Manager, Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Position Number 897482 School/Division School of Medicine Department Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Integrated Learning, the Program Manager works with associate deans, assistant deans, course directors, faculty, and data and analytics staff, to oversee, plan, and implement assigned courses. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that the specified curriculum and educational requirements are met by preparing course schedules, compiling syllabi components, arranging media services and support, scheduling learning spaces for course sessions, and managing student assignments for all assigned courses.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Collaborates with faculty, staff, and leadership to manage, plan, and implement the delivery and evaluation of assigned courses and related activities within the academic program, ensuring alignment with the mission and goals of the School of Medicine.
* Provides high-level administrative support essential for faculty success, including development of course materials, scheduling and attending meetings, managing correspondence, organizing and tracking tasks, coordinating faculty recruitment and onboarding, and supporting educational technology initiatives and activities.
* Manages the administration of assigned courses and learning sessions, faculty meetings, one-on-one course director-student meetings, materials for sessions, and any other related sessions and activities.
* Develops and creates forms and databases to document and support program activities.
* Recognizes and identifies issues and challenges as they arise while monitoring short- and long-term needs and communicating with stakeholders to gather feedback and input necessary for continuous improvement.
* Proactively develops and implements new processes and initiatives to support courses within the academic program, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the School of Medicine.
* Provides administrative support for assessment and evaluation processes and works with the data and analytics team to share student assessment and program/faculty evaluation data with the respective course directors.
* Provides high-level administrative support on various projects (research or otherwise) and initiatives for the Assistant Director, Integrated Learning, associate and assistant deans, course directors, and faculty, as needed.
* Assists with the onboarding, training, and development of program coordinators within the Integrated Learning Team.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required.
* 2-3 years of relevant administrative experience supporting an academic program in higher education, preferably in a school of health professions.
* Must have above-average organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and must demonstrate a high degree of judgement, discretion, and confidentiality.
* Must have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty, and students, manage complex projects in a busy work environment, make decisions with minimal oversight, and approach challenges with creativity and innovation.
* Must exhibit proficiency in computing, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other relevant software applications.
* Must be able to provide own transportation to and from off-site meetings.
* Early mornings, late evenings and/or occasional weekends required to support extended student services.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Canvas Learning Management System preferred.

Salary/Salary Range $64,350 - $68,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
