POSITION SUMMARY The Program Operations Lead is a strategic leader responsible for the oversight of daily operations, ensuring compliance, and optimizing program effectiveness to align with the organization's vision. In addition, the Program Operations Lead will drive various RISE events and initiatives (e.g., RISE to Vote, Champions of Change) and manage partnerships. The ideal candidate will be an experienced program and project manager with a deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice, prepared to elevate RISE's mission through innovative program strategies and strong stakeholder engagement. Program Management - Operations:
- Provide direction and integrative coordination in the planning, and implementation of RISE educational programs.
- Establish and implement goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and implement necessary changes for improvement.
- Collaborate with team members involved in curriculum creation and research initiatives.
- Ensure program activities align with departmental and organizational goals, tracking progress and reporting outcomes.
- Oversee all facets of daily operations within the organizational unit, ensuring compliance with RISE, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
- Oversee project management for needs analyses and climate surveys for programs.
- Maintain participant tracking and administer evaluations to monitor progress across assigned programs.
Training & Development:
- Provide training, support, and evaluations for RISE facilitators, including staff members and contractors/consultants.
- Oversight of the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse team of facilitators, ensuring the highest level of expertise and alignment with RISE's mission and values.
- Oversee program staffing assignments, including selecting and coordinating facilitators and staff to specific programs and initiatives.
- Occasionally facilitate training sessions as part of the larger programs team as needed.
RISE Programs:
- Provide oversight and direction for the execution of RISE programs, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and support key programmatic initiatives.
- Manage cross-functional teams responsible for program logistics, outreach, and elements, ensuring smooth coordination and high-quality execution.
- Develop and implement processes to ensure consistent, scalable, and impactful event experiences that meet participant needs and organizational goals.
- Monitor program performance metrics and gather feedback to continuously improve event strategies and outcomes.
Partnership Management - Operations & Fundraising:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners to enhance program delivery and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee the development and negotiation of proposals, agreements, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with partners.
- Oversee invoicing and financial reporting associated with partnership agreements, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with the external affairs team to identify and confirm funding opportunities and participate in proposal/grant writing efforts related to program services.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives to support program operations.
- Collaborate across departments to create collateral and assets that effectively promote RISE's programs and initiatives.
- Ensure that all external materials align with the organization's mission and messaging.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the Chief Program Officer (CPO)
- Supervises the Curriculum & Support Lead, Manager of Operations, Facilitators/Contractors and other RISE staff as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Competencies:

QUALIFICATIONSRequired:
- BA/BS degree (Postgraduate Degree or Masters Preferred)
- A minimum of 15 years of work experience in developing, implementing and managing administrative policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of current curriculum design and development techniques and procedures.
- Experience in teaching or facilitating discussions
- Commitment to an interdepartmental, interdisciplinary team approach, with strong collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively across stakeholder groups
- Adaptability to support various organizational needs as RISE continues to grow.
- Background or knowledge of the sports industry (grassroot, collegiate or professional)
- Proficiency in using CRM platforms like Salesforce or similar tools to manage and track partner interactions, communications, and relationships.
TRAVEL This position requires employee to travel (25%), possibly on nights, weekends and holidays. COMPENSATION RISE offers a competitive package, commensurate with experience. This job posting contains a salary range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that RISE believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the locations specified. RISE expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would RISE consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. TERMS / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- RISE employees are required to work 40 hours per week
- This role may require work on nights, weekends and holidays
