We are seeking a Program Specialist for Center for Adult Transition who will provide administrative and programmatic support for all Center for Adult Transition (CAT) activities. CAT serves students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) between the ages of 18-24 years old. CAT offers the Culinary Arts Vocational Certificate and provides resources aligned with students unique interests and goals, fostering independence and empowering students to be successful in training and the workplace. This is a part-time, hourly position. Example of Duties:
- Provide support to CAT students during classes, offering accommodation where necessary.
- Assist the Life Skills Instructor with the development of class lessons, activities, and workshops. Facilitate lessons in the instructor's absence.
- Provide individualized mentoring and coaching and support small group life skills activities in the life skills.
- Assist the Program Coordinator the oversight and implementation of program functions, student intake and assessments, marketing, outreach, and family engagement.
- Manage program records and complete reports for attendance, employment placement, and retention.
- Communicate with students, staff, visitors, and members of the public via telephone, electronic media, and in person to provide information regarding CAT programs, activities, and policies.
- Utilize computer software programs in use at the College; compose correspondence, create documents and classroom materials.
- Maintain student and department files and calendars, organize documents, information, and records, compile data and information for reports, order and maintain office supplies and materials.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two years of administrative experience required, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software programs; knowledge of Colleague preferred.
- Ability to work both cooperatively and independently and to organize and manage multiple projects.
- Outstanding interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, including experience working with diverse populations; bilingual skills a plus.
