Job Description:

The Institute of Human Virology (IHV) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB)is currently recruiting for aProgram Specialist. The Program Specialist will assist in the planning, implementation, management, and coordination of community-based HIV testing, engagement, and health education programming. This position will seek research opportunities, coordinate research, contribute to strategic research efforts, set research goals, and analyze research data related to HIV/HepC prevention. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland. * Essential Functions: * Coordination, data analysis, implementation, and monitoring of research projects. * Plan, implement, and monitor health education programming. * Provide support and assistance with grant writing. * Develop collaborative relationships with internal and external partners. * Record program activities; progress, status, outcome, and reports for management. * Perform other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of program. *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*Two (2) years administrative or program coordination experience. *Other:*Related experience to program may be substituted for education. Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
