Summary As the Program Support Assistant assigned to Geriatrics and Extended Care Line at CW Bill Young Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida, responsible for collecting, compiling, and/or tracking statistical information in relation to established performance measures, goals, and objectives; uses software applications to draw information from various sources to prepare/assist in preparation of reports; assists in administrative, clinical, and technical aspects of position. Responsibilities Schedule and review work activities performed in an office, including reporting and record keeping. Review and direct incoming documentation/inquiries and take personal action when applicable or direct to appropriate staff as needed. Take and coordinate meetings and minutes. Utilize a range of software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) to prepare correspondence. Receive incoming calls from patients, clients, staff, and others in need of information. Execute and prepare responses to routine correspondence and reports. Provides training in operations of computer programs. Assists with evaluating efficient means of documentation. Perform office computer utilizing multiple programs to complete documentation. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/27/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Preferred Experience: Experience in working in community care programs and various databases, HRSM, OPTUM, etc. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade,GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: handling data and coordination of program patients; collecting, compiling and/or tracking of statistical information in relation to established performance measures, goals, and objectives; uses software applications to draw information from various sources in order to prepare/assist in preparation of reports; assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program studies; ensures that proper administrative procedures are understood and followed by vendors and home care staff. Physical Requirements: The work is partly sedentary, using the computer for parts of the day. Walking to other parts of the facility may be necessary. Some bending and standing is required.
