JOB SUMMARYResponsible for assisting with facility rentals and the planning and implementation of activities for participants in the Community Services Programs. Employee will work under the direction of the Program Superintendent or designee.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Performs set-up and breakdown of various rooms in the facility for multiple uses.* Assists in set-up and break-down of furniture for events.* Events may be indoor or outdoor at various times throughout the day. Must be able to work in these varying conditions, including standing or sitting for long periods of time.* Must be able to lift or move equipment, tables and chairs.* Must be flexible and be adaptable to various situations, resulting in working various events at nights and/or weekends.* Sets up staging, tables and chairs, decorations, etc., for events and meetings as required; makes arrangements for refreshments as necessary.* Responsible for reporting all safety hazards to the immediate supervisor.* Responsible for accurate completion of required paperwork.* Effectively communicate with the public and assist with other duties as required by the department.* Cleans required areas of facilities, including trash removal and other custodial activities.* Responsible for the morning kitchen programs for seniors, including making refreshments, maintaining inventory, and clean-up of area.* Assists senior center staff in tasks needed to institute successful programs.* Assists seniors in registering for daily programs.* Facilitates programs and activities for seniors and the community, under the supervision of a full-time employee.* The duties listed above are not all inclusive of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* Assures security of building during rental of facility.* May run errands and pick-up supplies needed for activities.* May be required to answer phones and perform clerical tasks.* May assist in cleaning and detailing vehicles.* Performs related work as required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK* High school diploma or GED equivalent.* One (1) year of experience in facility rental and community services programming and services; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.* First Aid and CPR certification.* Possess a valid state driver's license.* Employee will be subject to background screening.Preferred Qualifications:* Bi-lingualEmergency Management Responsibilities:During emergency conditions, all City of Miramar employees are automatically considered emergency service workers. City of Miramar employees are subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.
