The Program Support Specialist - Home Visitor Child Development Associate (PSS-HVCDA) is an apprenticeship opportunity to learn about early childhood home visiting. The Program Support Specialist-HVCDA will train for and complete required Home Visitor Child Development Associate credential requirements within programs orientation period to ensure appropriate credentialing of Early Head Start Home Visitor requirements.The Program Support Specialist - HVCDA functions as the liaison between the Riverside Early Head Start (REHS) program and families with infants or toddlers, or pregnant women to whom they are assigned. The Program Support Specialist-HVCDA, through home visits and socialization experiences, enhances the healthy growth and development of families by providing health, nutrition, early childhood and parenting education, social services, and problem-solving support to families in meeting their goals for themselves and their children.We are looking for a great candidate that has the following competencies:Has a commitment to working with low-income and immigrant families and pregnant womenHas knowledge of community resources or how to access community and social servicesInterested in establishing a caring and supportive relationship with the persons we serviceHas basic knowledge - Is familiar with child development and/or social services delivery systemsWith mentorship will learn to manage a caseload of 5-6 families, prioritize, plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and use time effectivelyHas the ability to learn different computerized data systems to track all services to the familiesSchedule: Part Time, 20 hours a week12 Month Apprenticeship with the possibility to apply for a Home Visitor position after completion based on available vacancies.Monday through Friday 9:30am to 1:30pm OR 1:30pm to 5:30pmWednesday scheduling need of 9:30am to 3:30pm OR 12:30pm to 5:30pmPay Rate:$20.96/hourly with High School$22.24/hourly with Associate's Degree$23.14/hourly with Bachelor's degreeWhy You'll Love RiversideWe make a true difference in people's lives through rewarding work.
