Position Summary: The Program Support Specialist is responsible to support all agency Child Welfare Programs. The Program Support Specialist is specifically responsible for assisting with and providing crisis intervention support. The Program Support Specialist will also have an active role in conducting county notifications, and acting as the community intermediary in the event of behavioral concerns such as AWOCS, hospitalizations, and other crisis related behavioral concerns.

Schedule: Sunday: 8am-10pm, Monday: 1pm-10pm, Tuesday: 2pm-10pm, Wednesday: 1pm-10pm, Thursday-Saturday OFF

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • At least 3 year of experience working with children and families

  • Valid NYS Driver License in good condition as determined by the Agency

  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a human services or child welfare capacity

  • Professional certifications in Child Welfare Related field

  • CPR and First Aid Certification

  • Cornell University Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer

  • Supervisor Experience in a human services or child welfare agency

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time

  • Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Capable of vigorous physical activity

  • Able to safely operate an agency vehicle in accordance with NYS motor vehicle law

  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD
