Updates and maintains records, files, and automated databases. Maintains institutional mental health records in compliance with Institutional Operating Procedures and medical protocols. Assists with scheduling mental health and therapy sessions and/or programs for inmates. Prepares copies of relevant documentation, maintains files, emails documentation, and answers telephone calls for the Medical Unit. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department. This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits. Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyze data in order to reach logical conclusions and prepare routine reports
- Experience providing customer service and administrative support to include word processing, filing, and other related duties in a professional office setting
Additional Considerations
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal documents and release/discharge documents
- Administrative experience in a healthcare, criminal justice, court, or law office setting
- Previous clerical experience in a medical environment
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records
- Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems
