Description SAIC is seeking a highly organized and motivated leader with a diverse set of engineering skills to serve as resident expert located off-site at Penn State University Applied Research Lab (ARL).Candidate will work effectively in a fast-paced environment, specifically with submarine systems and related test equipment and will report technical and programmatic information to the program and deputy program managers.Candidate will be responsible to work in a team environment with ARL, Government, and SAIC engineers to design, development, test and implement modern systems for the U.S. Navy.The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating the transfer of technology and technical information between SAIC and Penn State University ARL.Serving as our technical expert and on-site representative, you will drive collaboration and ensure the seamless integration of new technologies and processes from the research ecosystem into our cutting-edge undersea vehicle program.Work can be performed remotely, but you will need to frequently go to PSU ARL for on site visits/meetings and travel to SAIC sites as needed. General Description of Role/Responsibilities:•Act as the primary liaison between SAIC and Penn State University engineering teams.•Transfer critical technical knowledge and advancements from Penn State to SAIC and vice versa.•Collaborate closely with university researchers to understand, evaluate, and utilize innovative technologies and methodologies for our new program.•Facilitate the integration of research findings into the design and transition to production.•Provide expert advice across multiple engineering disciplines, contributing to both theoretical and practical solutions.•Enhance communication between our in-house teams and university partners, ensuring clarity and efficiency in joint efforts.•Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to stakeholder with the company.•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems into the vehicle architectures, providing technical expertise, conducting system verification, and supporting validation activities to ensure seamless functionality and performance optimization.•Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations on system capabilities and performance.Qualifications Qualifications: •Minimum of a B.S. degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's or Ph.D. desired. •Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, with direct experience in technology transfer; prior experience working at, or directly with, PSU ARL strongly desired. •Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering, relevant to undersea vehicles.•Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently.•Experience in prototype development and transitioning products from design to production is highly desirable.•Position requires U.S. Citizenship.•Must be willing/able to obtain a Secret security clearance.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
