Job Title: Programmer - Enterprise Reporting and Application Development ( ERAD ) Job Location: 100% Remote Work hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Job Type: Contract Duration: 3 Months Pay Rate: $60 to $65 per hour Description of Work (Scope of work) The Enterprise Reporting and Application Development ( ERAD ) platform hosted under umbrella of Corporate Applications in Technology department provides backend data and reporting for Chief Operating Office on Vertical transportation using Microsoft Azure data technologies and Power Platform. The successful candidate may work independently as well as with both consultant and staff resources of different Units and Departments throughout the Agency under the direction of project manager to deliver work products including but not limited to:JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing Synapse tables and implementing data solutions within the Azure ecosystem.
- Design , develop and implement Synapse tables to support data ingestion, transformation and storage processes.
- Utilize Spark Scala / SQL to build scalable and efficient data pipelines within Azure Synapse.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards by understanding user requirements.
- Optimize data storage, ensuring high performance and reliability in Synapse environment.
- Provide expertise in troubleshooting and resolving data related issues within Azure Synapse.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Proven experience working with Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Proficiency in Spark Scala/SQL for data processing and transformation.
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts and database design principles within Synapse.
- Ability to optimize and tune Synapse tables for performance and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in architecting, design, and development of data warehouse systems (SQL Server based on Cloud/on premise and Analytics) at enterprise scale.
- Experience in building end to end data warehouse and analytical systems using SQL Server family of products, Analysis Services Power BI, etc.
- Experience with Azure Data Services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Proficient in Python and SQL.
- Designing and building of data pipelines using API ingestion and Streaming ingestion methods.
- Knowledge of Dev-Ops processes (including CI/CD) and Infrastructure as code is essential.
- Experience in developing NO SQL solutions using Azure Cosmos DB is essential.
- Thorough understanding of Azure and AWS Cloud Infrastructure offerings.
- Strong experience in common data warehouse modelling principles including Kimball, Inmon.
- Knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack (SSRS/SSAS (Tabular with DAX & OLAP with MDX) SSIS) is desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or business administration required.
