Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Overtime as neededPosition Summary: Create CNC programs that allow Mills, Lathes, and Burning Equipment to machine/cut parts in desired shapes per print and within desired tolerances. - Develop CNC programs using SolidWorks/CAM software for mills, lathes, lasers, waterjet, and plasma machines based on customer engineered prints.
- Establish process capability by machine center, program designated machines.
- Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
- Analyze prints, and design data to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speed and feed rates.
- Monitor output and proper operation of equipment. Make mechanical program adjustments to ensure parts meet all requirements.
- Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.
- Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as required by Machine Shop and Burn Department Supervisors.
- Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machine resources for manufacture of parts.
- Develop and maintain fixtures, tooling, and programs.
- Must be able to respond promptly and professionally to process improvements by utilizing troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain CNC library with revision control.
- Contribute to team environment by performing related duties as instructed in a respectful manner and being available to work overtime when necessary.
Qualifications, Education, Knowledge, Training, Work Experience:
- Competent operating CNC Machines and/or Burning Machines.
- Must be proficient in SolidWorks and/or MasterCam.
- Experience programming in MasterCam.
- Proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.
- Proficient in shop mathematics to calculate tool offsets, home positions, and verify print dimensions. Understands geometry and trigonometry.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, models, sketches, and GD&T.
- Understanding methodizing and process improvements.
- Experience working with various types of steel, aluminum, titanium, and other hard metals.
- Prior Experience in a similar role in a similar environment.
- Trade School Experience and Five (5) years' experience in a similar role CNC programming similar machine. Combination of Experience and Schooling may be sufficient depending on details.
- Participating in project kickoff meetings.
- Read and understand all routing instructions, drawings, and MPL notes.
- Ensure routing signoffs have been performed before and after the current process.
- Studying product and consumer requirements along with engineering, estimating, and manufacturing.
- Collecting material samples for conducting physical tests and analysis when necessary.
- Setting standards for in-process, finished product and rework.
- Ensuring all measurements and tolerances remain within stated specifications.
- Following all government regulations.
- Eliminating waste in machining operations.
- Help with scheduling jobs and personnel.
- Checking speeds and feeds of programs ran daily.
- Setup reduction.
- Time studies

Physical Demands and Environment:
- Constant exposure to a manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time to operate machines efficiently.

- Must have the dexterity to handle various objects necessary to complete the essential functions.
