General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for an onsite Programs Manager II to join our Bothell, WA Team.

Summary:

Plans, monitors and manages internal programs from initiation through completion. Leads or coordinates programs, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, troubleshooting and indirect people management. Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions. Responsibilities are within the Project Management function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time to support customers on the east coast and two sites in Washington State.

Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program
  • Implements and administers one or more corporate programs, typically consisting of multiple programs or sub-programs
  • Executes programs that meet the needs of the organization or its employees or customers
  • Participates in all aspects of corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance
  • Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks utilization
  • Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work in completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics
  • Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree
  • OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • ??2-4 years experience? relevant to the positions functional area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • Experience leading technical projects for DoD customers in a matrixed organization
  • Experience leading new product development programs from the conceptual design phase through qualification and low rate initial production.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Familiar with Integrated Product Development methods and product life cycles

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
  • Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
  • Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly
  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
  • Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgment
  • Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 and MS Projects tools
  • Responsible for working collaboratively across different departments to manage projects/programs from initiation through completion
  • Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent customer meetings, presentations, and site visits
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25% of time

Pay Range (USD): The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process: $92,374.00 - $171,551.00 Benefits: Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and basic life insurance as well as pre-tax spending accounts. Employees are also able to enroll in the company's 401k plan and are eligible for the Non-Contributory Retirement Contribution.
