Overview:
BRPH is currently looking for a Project Accountant for our Construction Services Market Sector at our Melbourne, Florida Headquarter office. The Project Accountant will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or otherfinancial reports to assess accuracy and completeness.Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that comparebudgeted costs to actual costs.
- Review project budgets, analyze variances and present findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policy and customer specific requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Work closely with project stakeholders to monitor cost and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or an Associates degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting cycle and project analysis.
- Must be able to reconcile complex data sets.
- Proficient Excel user.
- Must be able to understand various contract types, specifically T&M.
- Experience utilizing Procore and/or Deltek software is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without Sponsorship.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The work is semi-sedentary work and requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
- Ability to stand and sit for periods longer than 30 minutes but not to exceed two hours consecutively.
- Ability to control behavior when encountering stressful situations or short deadlines and to maintain a high level of concentration.
- Ability to print and draw letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are legible and understood by others.
- Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
