The Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Irvine. This role will oversee and lead a team of Business Unit (BU) accountants, focusing primarily on billing, revenue recognition, and project reconciliation activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of 3 Business Unit accountants, providing guidance and support.
Manage the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoices.
Oversee revenue recognition procedures in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Perform project reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity and project profitability analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Sales, and Operations to resolve accounting issues and enhance processes.
Prepare financial reports related to project accounting and provide insights to senior management.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audits as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
Proven experience (8+ years) in project accounting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong understanding of billing processes, revenue recognition principles (ASC 606), and project costing.
Experience with SAP preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complicated financial data.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
