Purpose of Position
Analyzes activities of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed period and funding. Performs complex (journey-level) project analyst work.
Essential Functions
Assists with managing the open records process for requests subject to the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) and coordinates responses to these requests in compliance with the Texas Government Code. Interprets open records requests and coordinates campus-wide effort to identify all responsive documents. Works with legal counsel as needed.
Maintains Open Records database; prepares and submits monthly report to the Texas Attorney General's Office; attends Open Government Conference annually to ensure knowledge of and compliance with new or modified legislation affecting the Act.
Maintains and manages confidential files and the office's filing system. Ensures compliance with records retention policies and regulations. Converts paper files to digital format in accordance with established filing protocols.
Assists with administration of institutional insurance policies, including review and processing of claims, maintaining insurance-related databases, purchasing additional insurance coverages as needed, and processing insurance premium payments.
Processes various business transactions recorded in University's accounting system, including deposits and distribution of charges to accounts.
Serves as back up for front desk coverage. maintains high degree of confidentiality on all sensitive information to which this position is privy.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Education required: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.
Minimum Experience required: Three years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to communicate professionally and effectively with external constituents and University staff at all levels.
Demonstrated success in roles requiring analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience with policy analysis.
Thorough understanding or prior experience with the Texas Public Information Act.
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
