Salary is between $74,000 and $92,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are looking for a dedicated professional seeking a permanent, full-time position in association with our Shreveport office. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or M.A. in anthropology with experience working in the Southeastern or South Central U.S., a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in cultural resource contracting, and will meet the Secretary of the Interior's (SOI) Standards (36 CFR Part 61) for archaeology. Other qualifications include excellent writing and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and technological proficiency that includes some experience working with GIS and relational databases. A working knowledge of relevant historic preservation legislation and regulations is essential. Qualified applicants will be registered with the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) or will be eligible for RPA registration. It is imperative that candidates be able to work 8 to 10 hour days in a variety of conditions and understand that there may be frequent stays away from the office. Stooping, bending, and lifting are essential functions of this position.Primary duties include but are not limited to: 1. Responsible for solicitation of new projects and the preparation of proposals and budgets;2. Oversee project logistics, and provide project oversight including budget and schedule tracking;3. Execution of phase I (inventory level survey), phase II (National Register evaluation), and phase III (data recovery) projects throughout the South Central and Southeastern U.S.;4. Conduct prefield and archival research;5. Direct fieldwork and laboratory analysis;6.
