AJA Architecture and Planning is a mid-sized design firm located in Glens Falls NY, focusing on resort, hospitality, commercial, and custom residential projects. We are looking for creative individuals to help lead our team.
Position Overview
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in Project Management to lead our design teams through all phases of the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial development and interior design, spa and resort development, and or high-end residential. This role requires exceptional office management skills, professionalism, and the ability to delegate tasks effectively while fostering communication and resolving conflicts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple architectural projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to develop innovative design solutions that align with project goals.
- Utilize strong leadership skills to delegate tasks and responsibilities within the project team, ensuring efficient workflow and accountability.
- Facilitate effective communication between project teams, clients, and external partners, addressing any issues or conflicts that may arise.
- Oversee the preparation of project documentation, including design plans, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress, discuss challenges, and implement solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in architecture, interior design, and commercial development.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their professional growth and development within the firm.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in architectural project management, with a focus on commercial development, interior design, resorts, and university projects.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
