Job Description:

On behalf of our client, a full-service architectural & interior design firm, we are seeking a Project Architect, to deliver high quality, innovative projects to Multi-Family, Retail and/or Hospitality markets in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner. This senior staff member must be technically sound, highly self-directed, energetic and focused; possessing exceptional communication skills and proven mentoring abilities.

Job Location: Must live in Middleton/Madison, WI area and work on site a vast majority of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.

Key priorities:

  • Exceptional architectural knowledge, solid proficiency, and proven ability to produce construction documents.
  • Technical expertise in components of materials and detailing.
  • Lead team of designers.
  • Oversee architectural projects from conceptual design through construction documents, making sure that project teams meet quality, schedule, contractual, and budget goals.
  • Proven knowledge of code regulations governing the industry.
  • Organize construction documents and assume responsibility for finished plans, specifications, materials, and construction.

Key success factors:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Bluebeam & SketchUp.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
  • Experience working on commercial projects.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals.
  • Excellent problem solver and strong follow-through.
  • Proven organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Proven history of excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication & presentation skills.

Experience & Competencies:

  • Preferred 5-10 years of experience in all phases of architectural design and documents.
  • Preferred bachelors or masters degree in architecture.
  • Understanding of all aspects and phases of the architectural production process.
  • Must have working Revit knowledge and have used Revit for at least two years in a professional setting. Works mostly in Revit to complete work on projects in one or more aspects (modeling, detailing, etc.). Makes edits to and works within established templates, standards, etc. Beginning to understand how firm projects are initially set up and how families are created.
