The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center is seeking a Project Co-Director to join our team. This position is a terrific opportunity for someone to gain additional experience and make a difference in the lives of our clients.

For over forty-five years, our organization has provided mental health and holistic services in northern Manhattan for families, children, adolescents, and other adults including the elderly in a supportive and caring environment. We also have an out-patient and residential substance abuse program as well as a Therapeutic Preschool for 3-5 year olds.

Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center is a Certified National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title of Position: Project Co-Director

Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee all elements of the agency's Project LAUNCH grant to enhance and expand our clinical response to early childhood mental health and developmental issues, including use of funds, future budgeting, research and evaluation, implementation, strategic planning, hiring, operations, fidelity, and QI.
  • Oversee clinical elements of program including supervision, intake process, referral process, and discharge process.
  • Oversee plan for community awareness of the program.
  • Participate in training of partner organization staff as appropriate.
  • Provide and/or oversee clinical training and consultation about early child mental health needs and resources to staff of the Ryan Health pediatric, OB/GYN, family care clinics and Health Care for the Homeless programs plus pediatric practices serving the targeted community.
  • Attend agency Grand Rounds, Unit Staff meetings, case conferences and training meetings.
  • Lead multi-stakeholder working group activities during monthly convenings to share project updates, obtain input, and facilitate a collective impact planning process regarding the shared data and aligned project goals, to continually improve coordination and collaboration.
  • Conduct outreach to invite additional stakeholder organizations to join the working group.
  • Assume other responsibilities delegated by Executive Director.
  • Follow all NYS OMH Regulations, HIPAA Regulations, and Agency Policies and Regulations.
  • Qualifications: MD, LCSW, or PhD

    Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Executive Director

    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong clinical skills in early childhood mental health
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Ability to wear many hats and multitask
    • Entrepreneurial and resourceful mindset
    • Well-versed in program leadership, research, and program growth.
    • Prior experience in leadership

    Amount of travel and any other special requirements:

    • 1 conference per year
    • Potential 3 hours per week in evenings for CPP training
    • Combination on-site/remote

    Salary Range: $50,000

    Hours per day or week: 0.5 FTE/40 hours
