We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Controls Engineer to join our team in the Oil & Gas industry. This role will play a critical part in managing and controlling project costs, schedules, and risks to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in project controls within the energy sector and be adept at analyzing data, forecasting, and implementing project management best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare cost estimates, forecasts, and budgets to support project planning and execution.
- Monitor project performance, including schedule adherence, cost variance, and resource allocation.
- Perform earned value management (EVM) to assess project progress and identify deviations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align project objectives and timelines.
- Prepare detailed project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk analyses.
- Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
- Conduct trend analysis to predict project outcomes and advise on corrective actions as necessary.
- Support procurement activities by providing cost and schedule inputs for vendor and contractor evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with internal and industry-specific standards, policies, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in project controls within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and SAP.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, scheduling, and risk management principles.
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas industry standards, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to present data-driven insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or cost engineering (AACE, CCP).
- Experience with large-scale capital projects or pipeline/infrastructure development.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Understanding of procurement, contracts, and supply chain processes within the Oil & Gas sector.
