Each project at Kiewit is run like a small business, with the Finance Supervisor acting as the CFO of their project, typically up to $200M in size. This position interfaces directly with project and district level management, providing trusted insight into the financial health of a project. The primary focuses of this position include: evaluating construction job cost, data reporting/analysis for management, budgeting/forecasting and revenue recognition. The Finance Supervisor is also responsible for training, developing, and managing all project finance and administrative staff.District OverviewKiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Its capabilities include general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development. Kiewit also provides fast, accurate preconstruction project management services.LocationThis is an onsite position located in the Omaha, NE metro area.ResponsibilitiesLeads project forecast reviews, utilizes historical and trending data to validate forecast, and follows company standards for cost and revenue reportingShows eagerness to learn the ins and outs of the field operations to better understand and communicate financial reports and dataSupports operations team with decision making by identifying, quantifying, and communicating financial risks and opportunitiesManages employee performance using the division of responsibilities, clearly communicates expectations and goals, and provides coaching and accurate feedback during employee performance reviewsPrepares client invoicing, manages accounts receivable and revenue, and reviews project cash flow projection on a monthly basisReviews and understands prime contract and change orders, including insurance, taxes, payment terms, and labor lawsFollows and implements proper internal controls, and acts as main point of contact for any internal or external financial auditsDrives continuous improvement throughout the organization and is a proponent for positive changeEarns trust, credibility, and buy in of processes from operations team to create cohesion and clear communication within the organizationDisplays first-rate customer service skills and exhibits a positive, can-do attitudeQualificationsMinimum 5 years business administration, accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax experienceBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degreeHighly skilled in Microsoft ExcelPrevious experience with construction cost management desiredEffective communication (both oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skillsStrong work ethic and eagerness to produce high-quality resultsAbility to work independently, as well as part of a teamHigh level of professionalism and standardsTravel may be required for this position (up to 10%)Working ConditionsOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
