The City of Chicagos Department of Water Management is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist the Engineer of Water Pumping (EWP) and Assistant Engineer of Water Pumping (AEWP) with monitoring Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) at the pumping stations that are managed by the DWM Bureau of Engineering Services (BES)
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
DWM Capital Improvement Projects at Pumping Stations
Drives to various pumping stations
Reviews project schedules
Participates in weekly construction administration calls
Monitors project progress, coordinates with the BES at the administrative level, and reports back to EWP with updates
DWM Work Order Programs
Assists the Pumping Station engineering team with monitoring, expanding and improving ongoing DWM EAM work order system rollout at DWMs12 pumping stations
Monitors and audits work order performance
Coordinates training, and creates and closes work orders for special projects
Monitors and reviews work order production on a month-to-month basis which is a key PSOD operating metric, per the Commissioner
DWM Pumping Budgets, Ordering, Vendors and Contract support
Assists with helping management monitor budgets
Assists with the preparation of the budget for personal and non-personnel expenses each year
Coordinates with each Pumping Station COE to monitor and confirm vendor work was completed in accordance with the contract by checking in with the managers at the facilities and other assorted invoices and contract tasks
May complete periodic work on vendor contracts
Updating/Modernizing/Organizing DWM Pumping Group Standard Operating Procedures (Safety, Trades, Operations).
Assists with the updating operational SOPs program at the pumping stations
Organizes existing SOPs on file at the stations and updates the documents
Gathers information from DWM trades foreman and managers
Checks in with various subject matter experts in the Bureau
Gathers old documents, and makes updates as needed
Provides final deliverables in a digital and hard copy format
Training
Assists the AEWP with administrating the annual mandated DHR/DWM training of 200 Pumping employees across the various required training modules (EEO, Ethics, Sexual Harassment).
Interfaces with the DWM Training Operator Manager to enhance the rollout
Monitors participation and prepares reports to ensure deadlines are met
Supports staff with any additional resources needed (IT, office supplies, flash drives, hard copies) to get the training completed
Additional duties may be required for this position
**Location** : 1000 East Ohio/Jardine Water Treatment Plant
**Days** : Monday through Friday
**Hours** : 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
**THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE**
**Qualifications:**
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
