PROJECT COORDINATOR - ART, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & CLIMATE SOLUTIONS ACTION

Earth Celebrations, a non-profit organization engaging communities to generate ecological & social change through the arts, is seeking a P/T Project Coordinator for our ECOLOGICAL CITY: Art & Climate Solutions Action Project on the Lower East Side of New York City.

Duration: March – May

The Project Coordinator position (part-time) is available for Earth Celebrations' Ecological City: Art & Climate Solutions Project, applying cultural strategies to engage community and mobilize action on local climate solutions initiatives to mitigate climate impacts and develop solutions. The project includes Art & Climate Solutions Workshops and a culminating theatrical pageant featuring visual art and 21 site performances throughout the gardens, neighborhood and waterfront on the Lower East Side of New York City.

Skills: theatrical-arts-event production and coordination, logistics management and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages project logistics and event production.
  • Oversees and manages workshops, materials purchases and coordination of participants and artists.
  • Supervises interns and production volunteers.
  • Qualifications:

  • BFA, MFA, or BA.
  • Ability to manage production logistics and lead a team of volunteer and community participants.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Suites.
  • Interest and Background: community-based arts, community engagement, arts/theater, environmental and climate issues, community gardens, parks and waterfront, urban planning and activism.

    Part-Time: minimum 16 - 20 hours per week from March - May

    Schedule:

  • Manages Arts & Community Engagement Workshops: Saturdays 11am-4pm.
  • Production Work: Tuesday - Thursday (10am -2pm).
