Client is embarking on a multi-year effort to replace Enterprise Resource Planning applications and optimize the related processes. Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Analyze project budgets, expenditures, and variances to identify anomalies and ensure adherence to financial objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to develop accurate project cost estimates and forecasts.
- Monitor project spending patterns and provide regular reports on cost performance to stakeholders.
- Review and validate project invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. Prepare accruals as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including project budget reports, cost variance reports, and financial forecasts.
- Develop and maintain project cost control tools and templates to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements related to project cost management.
- Track and document change orders and update financials if necessary
- Prepares award memos and change orders memos to authorize additional contract funding when required.
- Other project responsibilities as necessary including assisting in project management activities
Skills:
- Project management experience preferred.
- Proven experience as a cost analyst, financial analyst, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques, cost control methodologies, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in using financial analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional, Certified Project Management Professional) are desirable but not required.
