Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Quality and Safety Operating Systems, the Project Director, Care Operating Systems (CareOS) will plan and manage the successful delivery of projects within our new Care Operating System business line. In partnership with the VP, this role will build and expand this new line of business, driving data-driven workflows that significantly enhance patient outcomes, improve healthcare quality and safety, and redefine the patient and workforce experience.

This is a full-time remote position based in the USA, with a requirement to manage projects across multiple time zones. The role involves domestic and international travel (up to 25%), which may decrease as the CareOS business line evolves.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive project management plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Project Execution & Monitoring: Lead the execution of project workstreams, ensuring that deliverables are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resource & Budget Management: Develop, manage, and optimize project budgets.
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure the delivery of high-quality project outputs.
  • Project Team Leadership: Lead project teams to foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving: Proactively identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Project Communication & Reporting: Facilitate regular project meetings and prepare detailed project reports.
  • Knowledge Management: Oversee the management of project documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Facilitation & Coordination: Plan and coordinate project activities, ensuring effective logistical management.
  • Customer-Focused Delivery: Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Improvement Science and Core Methodology: Teach and apply IHI's core methodology to accelerate customer/partner results.
  • Content Development: Help to identify and develop new opportunities for IHI content, programs, or products.
  • Represent IHI: Act as a spokesperson and representative for the project/program.

Position Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Seven to ten years previous work experience in a professional environment
  • Three to five years of prior project management experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience with or knowledge of healthcare and health systems
  • Completed or in process, Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability and interest to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma green belt certification
  • Familiarity with IHI improvement methods
  • Professional fluency in multiple languages
