We are seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to join our team.Why join us?We value our employees:Competitive SalaryMedical and Dental benefitsBonusPTO - FlexibleIRA + 3% company matchVehicle +Fuel Card +Expense CardJob DetailsCandidate must have direct experience with heavy civil earthworks and underground utilities.Your role will consist of: * Work alongside project managers and general superintendents on all quality control items*Assist PM in facilitating project subcontractors and suppliers buyout (PO's)*Assist PM and General Superintendent with project document control, RFI's, supplemental information, submittals, drawing and spec review, etc* Assist with quantity Agtek reports and take-offsAdditional Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning & Execution: Material procurement and expediting, assistance in work planning for self-perform and work activities, oversight and mentoring of engineering staff, Project close-out: involved in coordinating of documentation - deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments
  • Schedule: Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system
Project Cost Control: Inventory control – monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources, labor productivity monitoring for self-perform work activities
  • Project Document Controls & Procedures: Coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control, Change management – responsible for set-up, issuing documentation, pricing and change administration
  • Subcontract Management: Subcontract administration – defining scope of work, writing subcontracts, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing back charges
Project Administration: Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimatesQualifications and Skills:
  • Construction or Civil Engineering related degree preferred
  • 2+ years relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Projects, and Outlook
***Knowledge of the following software a plus: SharpeSoft (similar to HCSS, Bid2Win), Agtek, Bluebeam
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
