You will be assigned to the jobsite and depending on location may work part time in the office. This position is intended to be a career development position to help you further your career growth in either Project Management or On-Site Project Supervision.
Job Requirements:- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5 years of commercial construction experience required; prefer experience with commercial metal framing, drywall, and other related specialty construction
- Willing to complete a drug test and background check
- Virginia Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Construction Related Knowledge:
- Building and Construction - knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of commercial buildings and the skills and abilities to perform them
- Mathematics - knowledge of arithmetic, algebra and geometry and the ability to apply them in the proper applications
- Blueprint Reading and Interpretation - knowledge of building plans and symbols and the ability to interpret the intended construction methods
- Ability to consistently produce work meeting required standards, that is comprehensive in scope, complete in detail, and presented in a professional and understandable format.
- Strong and consistent communication skills, including emotional awareness, active listening, respectful language, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem solving.
- Comfortable and proficient learning new technical systems as needed; knowledge of Procore a plus.
- Able to plan for both long and short range objectives, set priorities and develop effective schedules to meet deadlines. Able to identify issues and apply strong problem solving skills to evaluate facts and arrive at sound solutions.
- Demonstrate a learning orientation. Willing to pursue related educational and training opportunities with intellectual curiosity for job performance improvement on an on- going basis.
- Demonstrate a strong safety focus; belief that the safety and health of all employees is not just about compliance, but about ensuring that everyone makes it home safely every day. Has knowledge to identify general safety hazards anticipated for the scope of work they are managing and ensure that subcontractors are aligned with our Safety for Life culture.
- Hold core safety training certifications such as CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30; completion of industry specific training such as powder actuated fastener training and lift training a plus.
- Ability to meet physical demands: General office activity - use of computer devices and business machines, required to talk, sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift and walk.
- Ability to speak and understand basic Spanish a plus
