What Youll Do

As a Project Engineer, youll:

  • Help oversee project execution from startup to closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Plan and organize processes like pre-activity meetings, material management, and incident reporting.
  • Manage subcontractors, holding them accountable to contracts, scopes, and project schedules.
  • Review and process RFIs, change orders, and 3-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts while maintaining compliance with owner and subcontractor requirements.
  • Lead internal and external project meetings, providing clear updates to all stakeholders.
  • Build P6 schedules with cost/resource loading and manage progress reports for owners and leadership.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and production, adjusting plans as needed to meet objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including Davis-Bacon wage requirements, VAAR, and FAR clauses.
  • Oversee warranty, commissioning, and closeout processes while ensuring client satisfaction.

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • 2-6 years experience with a hard-bid general contractor managing $20MM+ projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and systems.
  • Experience in healthcare and federal sector projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Adobe.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends for hospital construction.
  • Proven ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a desire for long-term career growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Arbitration, mediation, and safety management experience (OSHA and EM-385-1-1).
