Job Overview We are seeking a Project Engineer I for our Iron Mountain, MI site that will be responsible for providing technical guidance to engineering, design, project management, and manufacturing teams with a focus on electrical design. A Day In The Life
- Control the Bill of Material and verify accuracy and compliance with customer specifications
- Create and verify QC Documents
- Coordinate project requirements with CAD Designer and Technician
- Resolve technical issues in manufacturing
- Create Wire Diagrams and House Wire Schematics
- Interpret and understand internal and external customer specifications
- Have a knowledge of circuits, electrical components, and their related functionality.
- Review of Mechanical Drawings for quality and compliance with requirements
- Coordinate with the Compliance Team and Product Design Team for projects, as required
- Review buildings for NEC code compliance, as required.
- Create component Bill of Materials and Cable Schedules
- Work safely in and around energized electrical enclosures.
- Coordinate design change implementation
- Work with Project Manager to support projects
- Customer visits (travel approximately 10% of the time) What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering related field or Associate Degree with equivalent experience working in Utilities
- Utility Systems Certificate would be helpful
- Minimum of one to three years of experience in related engineering, co-op or internship role; Or minimum of five years of experience working on a Systems Control project management team
- Knowledge and understanding of the company's product offering and customer needs
- Basic understanding of AC and DC circuits
- Skill at reading schematics and wiring diagrams
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven analytical & problem-solving skills
