As an Estimator, you'll play a crucial role in shaping how we build, ensuring our bids are competitive, accurate, and set up for success.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Estimate Preparation: Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates by gathering material, labor, and equipment data.
- Project Analysis: Analyze drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to understand scope and requirements.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Request and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Takeoff Execution: Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and resources using software or manual methods.
- Cost Database Management: Help maintain and update cost databases with current market rates and pricing information.
- Collaboration: Work with the estimating team, project managers, and crew leads to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Proposal Support: Assist in the preparation of proposals and bid submissions, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and supporting documentation for reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, B2W ) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
