RARE Opportunity to join the Gilbane Team as we expand our work in the state of South Carolina!

We are strategically seeking a Project Executive to assist with supporting a large-scale higher education project in Columbia, SC starting early 2025 in addition to several projects sprouting up throughout the state. The person in this role will play a unique and vital role in not only managing existing work, but will also lead business development for the future of Gilbane's presence across the Palmetto State!

This person can be located in:

Greenville, SC

Columbia, SC

Charleston, SC

*Must be willing to travel state-wide.

The role of our Project Executive will be the on-site representative of the company responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a complex construction-management project; as well as mentoring multiple Project Managers and Engineers. This role will involve heavy travel across the state of South Carolina between Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston.

Responsibilities
    Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
  • Enforce project reporting requirements
  • Manage critical issues
  • Assume overall accountability for jobsite safety and quality
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS OR MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10-15 years in the lead role on projects valued at $100 million or larger (higher education experience is a plus!)
  • Experience in a business development capacity, or desire to be part of securing new work is strongly desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong technical and communication skills are critical
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office (preferred)
