Summary
Join a top 400 ENR GC as a Project Executive for their Madison office. Provide leadership for multiple project teams and charged with the development of project teams including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Engineers. Responsible for the overall success of the project as measured by preconstruction, safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Demonstrate robust leadership abilities, including the capacity to expand and develop the team in alignment with the company's growth trajectory.
- Guide and mentor the project team to ensure their ongoing skill development and growth.

- Provide leadership and hands-on support across various project stages, from preconstruction to issue resolution, coaching team members and ensuring accountability.
Operational Excellence:
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Assume full accountability for project performance, encompassing safety, financial oversight, construction quality, and client satisfaction.
- Effectively handle contract disputes.
- Direct the project management team in execution strategies.
- Regularly report on key metrics such as safety, budget, and schedule progress.
- Manage contract finances to safeguard the company's interests while fostering positive client relations.
- Consider the organization's economic and financial landscape to ensure alignment with company objectives and available resources.
- Utilize resource planning software to allocate and monitor project resources.
- Oversee the chargeability of project team members.
Driving Project Performance:
- Negotiate and communicate contract terms with clients, preparing owner contracts.
- Conduct monthly site visits to monitor progress and maintain project awareness.
- Develop risk mitigation plans and strategies.
- Review and approve monthly project status reports.
- Supervise subcontract bidding and negotiations.
- Facilitate positive cash flow and ensure timely progress payments.
- Participate in meetings with clients, architects, and consultants.
- Lead a diverse team including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Leaders, and Admin Staff.
- Ensure project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance at a high level.
- Collaborate closely with field teams and General Superintendents.
Developing and Managing Relationships:
- Conduct critical client interactions throughout the project lifecycle, resolving issues promptly and maintaining commitment to project goals.
- Cultivate professional relationships with owners, architects, and trade partners.
- Foster client and subcontractor relationships through exceptional service and successful project completion.
- Support business development efforts by nurturing client relationships.
- Lead the RFP process and provide guidance to preconstruction and operations staff for high-quality deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with Executive Leadership on pertinent issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
- Over 10 years of construction management experience.
- Previous management or mentorship of project management professionals is advantageous.
- Experience managing commercial projects exceeding $40 million is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in construction software, preconstruction, construction management, business development, and general contractor operations.
