Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related discipline required. Master'sdegree in a related subject area and a minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred. Excellentoral and written communication skills, organizational and public relations skills are essential. Experiencewith giving multimedia presentations is essential. Experience with grant and program management,development of a budget, and the tracking of expenditures is preferred. Must have an in-depth knowledgeof and experience with successful teaching techniques, instructional materials, Virginia's Standards ofLearning, and current Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements. Must have the ability to work withfamilies, teachers, school administrators, and business/community partners to help promote studentachievement. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Must be able to work efficiently under minimum day-to-day supervision and to effectively handle multipleassignments simultaneously. Experience with the supervision and training of adult employees and workingwith youth is preferred. Must have some knowledge of how to develop community partnerships, and how torecruit and coordinate volunteers. Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet,Intranet and E-mail applications.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Works nonstandard hours after school and on Saturdays dependingon an established work schedule. Plans, implements, markets, and evaluates the 21st Century CommunityLearning Center Grant. Develops collaborative partnerships and provides ongoing support to the 21stCentury Community Learning Center's goals, objectives, and timetable of specific activities, tasks, andresponsibilities. Provides training opportunities for program stakeholders. Supervises and evaluates theemployees assigned to the program. Conducts assessments, markets results, and implements appropriateprogram changes and adjustments. Recruits participants and informs the public of program opportunities.Manages program budget and keeps accurate financial records. Prepares necessary reports for schooland central administration. Performs other related duties as assigned.GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs professional work overseeing theplanning, implementation, and evaluation of the goals and objectives of the 21st Century CommunityLearning Center. Work requires vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of thespoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity isrequired for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.REPORTS TO: Site Director and PrincipalLENGTH OF CONTRACT: This is a temporary position and can be terminated at any time by RichmondPublic Schools.
