Job Description:
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of moderately complex projects from initiation through completion, primarily focusing on machine sales and post-installation changes. This individual will coordinate across various departments and manage project timelines, scope, and client relationships to ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential Functions:
* Project Definition & Planning: Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product management teams during the proposal stage to define the appropriate machine configurations for customer applications.
* Technical Sales Support: Provide technical assistance in sales presentations, demonstrations, and customer meetings as required.
* Customer Demos & Support: Assist with customer demos, ensuring clear understanding of machine capabilities and solutions.
* Project Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating activities and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.
* Client Relationship Management: Engage with internal and external clients, leading negotiations, conducting planning sessions, and defining project scope and performance expectations.
* Business Strategy Development: Assist in developing business strategies and plans to capitalize on new business opportunities.
* Project Management Expertise: Provide expertise in project management methodologies, risk identification, scope definition, resource allocation, and other areas based on background and experience.
* Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Facilitate problem resolution for complex system development, project design, or coordination issues.
* Communication: Respond to project-related inquiries, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress and any issues.
* Timeline Management: Ensure project timelines are met and project goals are achieved, addressing obstacles and providing solutions as needed.
* Reporting & Presentations: Participate in presentations to management, providing updates on project status, timelines, and expected results.
* Cost and Risk Management: Interface with cross-functional teams (sales, field service, accounting, operations) to generate cost estimates, gross profit analyses, production estimates, and risk analyses.
* Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support project success and business objectives.
Job Specifications:
* Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage moderate to complex projects, with strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
* Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the finishing equipment industry, including machinery, installations, and post-installation services.
* Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
* Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of MAPICS and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively across teams, manage relationships, and collaborate with diverse groups.
* Adaptability: Capable of multitasking, staying positive under pressure, and adapting to changing priorities and demands.
Required Education and Experience:
* Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Experience:
* 2 plus years of experience in managing medium-scale projects.
* 4 plus years of experience in R&D, field service, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
