Position Overview: This position supports the United States Coast Guard as a Project Management Consultant III, supporting the Business and Logistics Management Support Services office. The Project Management Consultant Level III will be responsible for overseeing all contractor work performed under calls issued under this Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). This role involves developing a project management curriculum aligned with Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) requirements, conducting relevant classroom training, and providing mentoring. The consultant will guide improvements in business process re-engineering and enable effective planning, management, and execution of strategic programs and projects. - Typical 8-hour workday within the hours of 0800 and 1700 EST, Monday through Friday.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop a project management curriculum that supports FAC-P/PM requirements.
- Conduct project management classroom training to enable FAC-P/PM certification.
- Provide mentoring to project managers and program managers.
- Offer guidance to improve business process re-engineering.
- Facilitate effective planning, management, and execution of strategic programs and projects.
- Conduct detailed research and analysis of technical data.
- Interpret and apply acquisition policy, regulations, and directives.
Requirements Position Requirements:
- A minimum of a Master's degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or Engineering.
- Maintain a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Successful completion of ITIL Foundations training.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in managing projects, with a focus on business process and re-engineering projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Ability to read and interpret government policies, regulations, and directives.
- Apply interpretations of government policies, regulations, and directives fully and legally to all activities described in the Statement of Work (SOW).
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience working with the United States Coast Guard or DHS supporting IT projects.
- Prior experience as an Information Technology project manager or project lead responsible for team, budget, and scheduling elements.
