THE POSITION

The PA Department of Education (PDE) strives to ensure that every learner has access to a world-class education system that academically prepares children and adults to succeed and is seeking a Project Manager to join our team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will lead complex, high visibility education data project initiatives with multiple stakeholders for K-12 education environments. Our team will rely on your experience and skills in project management, business analysis, and information technology to oversee projects from inception to implementation. This includes creating and maintaining project plans and documentation including tasks, plan resources, budget costs, and quality control activities, as well as directing risk-impact assessments and invoking change control processes as required. You will also advise leadership on the progress of all assigned projects through detailed executive summaries and presentations to business partners, staff, leadership, and peer organizations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

+ Full-time employment

+ Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position is expected to report to the office one day per month, currently every first Thursday of each month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

+ Two years of experience as a Business Analyst 4;or

+ Two years of experience as a Project Manager 1;or

+ Four years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects and a bachelor's degree;or

+ An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes four years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects.

+ This particular position requires that you must possess three or more years of state-level education data analysis experience (specifically K-12 public education in Pennsylvania).

+ This particular position requires that you must possess one or more years of experience leading complex technical data related projects through the entire development lifecycle.
