**What You Will Do**
The Advanced Sources and Detectors Project is looking for a highly motivated person with backgrounds in science, engineering, and/or project management to become a Control Account Manager (CAM) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) on projects that will enable three (3) decades of dynamic physics experiments supporting stockpile stewardship. In this role, you will perform the duties as the CAM for major Work Breakdown Structures items for 413.B Line-Item capital project and will be responsible for managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance of a subset of the overall project's scope. The CAM leads a cross-functional group of Integrated Project Team (IPT) members, assembled to successfully execute a set of project objectives. The CAM ensures that the project objectives safely meet the project requirements and are fulfilled within cost and schedule constraints. Has broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories. This position will directly report to the Project Manager responsible for the completion of total project scope.
**Key Responsibilities/Duties/Knowledge**
**Technical Management:**
+ Manage large projects ($30-100M TPC). Responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing).
+ The CAM is responsible for leading a cross-functional IPT, which includes members with diverse skills and expertise from different departments or specialties. Required to provide day-to-day oversight to ensure execution of project deliverables.
+ Utilize demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities to ensure successful project execution.
+ Responsible for managing, coordinating and administering major project efforts that may involve several Laboratory organizations and vendors.
+ Establish and maintain strong and effective customer, peer, and team relations.
**Expert EVMS Practitioner:**
+ Responsible for planning, budgeting, managing and controlling costs and schedule performance for a project or sub-project and serve as a point of contact for project controls, including account scope, schedule, budget and technical performance.
+ As a CAM, responsible for reviewing variances in schedule or cost, identifying their causes, and creating effective corrective action plans; also, required to present project performance plans, updates, and issues to federal sponsors.
+ Manage Control Accounts within large project that involves a high-level of rigor to fulfill requirements defined in 413.3B.
+ Operates with expert-level proficiency in EVMS tools (P-6, Cobra, etc.) and processes, including change control, budget estimation, and reporting.
**EVMS Leadership & Mentoring:**
+ Serve as a subject matter expert in project controls and management, leveraging experience in budgeting, cost estimating, cost control, and scheduling to mentor peers and newer staff.
+ Serve as a leader in project management, with expertise in EVMS tools and processes.
**What You Need**
**Minimum Job Requirements:**
+ Project Management: extensive experience managing large-scale projects under DOE Order 413.3B, overseeing all phases from initiation through closure, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and successful project delivery.
+ Execution of Project Deliverables: proven track record of executing project deliverables on time and within scope, ensuring that all project objectives and milestones are met according to plan.
+ Leading Teams: demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and cohesion among members with diverse skills to achieve project objectives effectively.
+ Earned Value Management: in-depth understanding of EVMS principles, applying them to monitor project performance, control costs, and schedule, and implement corrective actions as needed.
+ EVMS Tools: expert in utilizing P6 and Cobra for EVMS, effectively integrating these tools to manage project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics accurately.
+ Experience Providing Routine Reporting: skilled in preparing and delivering routine project management reports, providing clear status updates, trend analyses, and issue resolutions to stakeholders, including federal sponsors.
+ Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Cobra is mandatory.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
**Education and Experience:**
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline from an accredited institution and 12 years of experience in two or more of the following functions: project management, project control, engineering, procurement or construction leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Basic Knowledge of Accelerator Systems: fundamental understanding of accelerator systems, enabling effective coordination and communication with technical teams to ensure that project requirements align with system capabilities and standards.
+ Mentoring: experience mentoring peers and junior staff in project controls and management, including budgeting, cost estimating, cost control, and scheduling.
+ Professional experience, which included at least 8 years' as a designated Project Manager or CAM.
**Work Environment:**
**Work Location:** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
**Position commitment:** Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. **Clearance: Q** (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

**426.2:** This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.

**Incentive Compensation Program:** Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program.
