Job Description Purpose of Position: The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and supporting the quality improvement capacity building and training portfolio. The Assistant Director will help to develop and manage programs focused on the fundamentals of quality and leadership. The Assistant Director r will specifically play a key role in managing the Clinical Leadership Fellowship, a one-year fellowship designed to develop the next generation of clinical leaders at NYC Health + Hospitals. The Assistant Director's responsibilities will include developing project plans and ensuring deliverables are met, managing the fellowship recruitment cycle, coordinating and facilitating all fellowship programming, managing the onboarding and credentialing process in collaboration with PAGNY and NYC Health + Hospitals HR, and serving as the liaison to Clinical Leadership Fellowship faculty. The Assistant Director will also develop content for quality improvement capacity building programs targeted towards managers and supervisors and executive leaders and support other ad hoc projects within the Office of Quality & Safety. Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of Clinical Leadership Fellowship, including planning and coordinating all fellowship programming sessions throughout the fellowship year
  • Manage the recruitment cycle of new fellows each year; create marking materials, manage all incoming applications, and plan Interview Days
  • Help develop surveys to evaluate fellows' experience and fellowship outcomes
  • Track project performance to assist team with staying on tasks and ensuring completion of short- and long-term goals
  • Liaise with senior level executives from NYC Health + Hospitals' central office and facilities, as well as local and national non-profits and healthcare institutions
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout the duration of projects, escalating program risks where applicable
  • Document and follow-up on key points and next steps from meetings
  • Manage the onboarding and credentialing process, in collaboration with PAGNY and NYC Health + Hospitals HR, to ensure fellows are adequately onboarded for their administrative and clinical time during fellowship
  • Help develop and coordinate quality improvement training content for managers/supervisors and executive leaders
  • Support other ad hoc activities as identified by the Assistant Vice President of Quality & Safety and Vice President of Quality Management. This includes helping to prepare electronic surveys for various projects and analyzing and presenting the results, and supporting other departmental project activities, as needed, within the Office of Quality & Safety.

Minimum Qualifications 1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare, Hospital, Public or Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior or a related discipline and three (3) years of full-time experience planning, developing and monitoring programs, systems and/or procedures in support of administrative management initiatives, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or 2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in 1 above and four (4) years of full-time experience, as outlined in 1 above, two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Department Preferences Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
