About Our Client Our client is a highly respected, multi-disciplinary general contractor with over 100 employees and a vast network of subcontractors and consultants. With annual revenues exceeding $100M, they serve both public and private sectors through three key business units:
Secure Projects - High-stakes federal work with clients like the CIA, GSA, and Department of Defense. Regional Projects - Municipal contracts for public schools, DC Housing Authority, and county-level work. As they continue to grow, our client is seeking a Project Manager to join their team and oversee commercial and government-related construction projects.
Job Description - Project Oversight: Lead and manage commercial and government projects from pre-construction through final delivery, ensuring alignment with client goals and project specifications.
- Budget & Scheduling: Oversee project budgets and schedules, tracking progress and identifying opportunities to improve project efficiency.
- Subcontractor Management: Supervise subcontracted and self-performed work, managing day-to-day activities, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to project plans.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong communication and relationships to ensure satisfaction and project success.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all projects meet industry safety standards and regulatory requirements. Hold current credentials such as OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, and CQC certification from USACE/NAVFAC.
- Technology Use: Utilize construction management software, spreadsheets, and email for day-to-day management of projects.
- Estimating & Cost Control: Develop project estimates, control costs, and maintain strict financial oversight to ensure projects stay within budget.

The Successful Applicant Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with commercial and/or industrial general contractors. Alternatively, 12+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in estimating and managing both subcontracted and self-performed construction activities. A strong understanding of construction means and methods for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Government Contracting: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in government contracting is preferred.
- Certifications: Must have current safety certifications (OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR), and a CQC certification issued by USACE/NAVFAC. Professional credentials such as AC, CPC, or PE are a plus.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in spreadsheets, email, and construction industry software. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
