CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT - DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES CLASS SPECIFICATION Title: Project Manager (Community Impact) Level: 4167 CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: Under general direction, responsible for every aspect of projects from analysis and design through implementation, completion, and evaluation. Provides design implementation, technical and professional support and finance management. Aligns Chicago Park District mission and core values with sister agencies, community based not for profits, and outside partners. Manages projects with an emphasis on community impact while utilizing measurement and evaluation techniques. Performs related duties as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Manages and coordinates all aspects of projects from inception to completion. Provides professional management in all areas including administration, planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation. Creates program teams by identifying personnel and resources needed to complete projects. Defines team roles and responsibilities, within Chicago Park District and with partner organizations. Provides timely and precise communication to all parties involved. Coordinates and oversees concurrent projects involving a number of teams. Supervises and directs team members. Serve as project liaison to public, CPD Board, staff, executives, consultants, and vendors. Assures budget, schedule, scope, standards, community impact, outcomes, and quality are defined and remain within requirements. Maintains complete and current project files, correspondence, and documents. Provides progress and summary reporting as needed. Represents CPD at key stakeholder meetings. Assists with aligning CPD mission, core values, and annual goals with partner organizations. DESIRABLE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Training and Experience : Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, preferably three to five (3 -5) years in project management for the appropriate field is required; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required . License requirement: Illinois Driver's License Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the management processes in a variety of settings and the ability to apply this knowledge to the development of innovative solutions to problems in the design and implementation process. Professional knowledge of management principles and practices. Knowledge of computer methods and techniques. Demonstrated ability to manage successfully the design and implementation process for large and complex projects within demanding time and cost constraints. Demonstrated ability to manage project budget in design and implementation. Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules. Comprehensive understanding of project delivery gained through documented education and/or experience. Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently. Ability to detail, to perform within deadlines, to maintain confidentiality and to manage multiple and various stakeholders. Career Service: Exempt EEO: Professional FLSA: Exempt
