Role: Project Manager- Design and Construction Location: Providence, RI Duration: One Year Contract with possibility of extensions. Hours/week: 35. Primary Purpose: Provide comprehensive project management services to the College, overseeing renovation, deferred maintenance, and various College-related projects.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage design and construction projects from concept to completion, including planning, design, facilities assessment, programming, budgeting, capital planning, and construction phases.
- Prepare schematic designs, plans, and specifications; review and recommend modifications to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Lead architectural, engineering, maintenance, and construction projects, with a strong understanding of MEP, Structural, and Civil Engineering.
- Maintain accurate records of as-built conditions for buildings, utilities, and other infrastructure; manage computerized databases where applicable.
- Conduct detailed inspections of construction and renovation projects, coordinating with external agencies and ensuring project close-out.
- Serve as a liaison between clients, designers, contractors, and trades, supporting regulatory agency requirements.
- Monitor project progress, coordinate with design and construction agents, and issue regular reports.
- Prepare construction estimates and budget studies, and collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure consistency in design for future maintenance and repairs.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in planning, design, and construction administration.
- OSHA-10 certification and valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of project management practices, building codes, and construction specifications.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project scheduling software.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional certifications (AIA, PE, PMP, CCM) are preferred.
- Experience in a college or university setting or similar institutional environments.
- Familiarity with CAD and 3-D modeling software.
